How great is Canadian designer Sonja den Elzen? Not only does she consistently strive to find new ways to include eco friendly fabrics such as organic wool, organic cotton, peace silk, tencel and hemp in her Thieves collection, but she creates pieces with incredible versatility, like this 5-in-1 dress. Being in my home and native land at the moment, I had a chance to drop by her studio cum boutique in Toronto and fell in love. This dress is sultry or serious, summery or cozy depending on mood or need. The dress can be worn sleeveless with sleeves tied around front or back waist. Waist ties turn into sleeves to create a shorter long sleeved dress with a cowl neck. Long sleeves can also be pulled up and tied to back of neck (as a halter) for a shorter dress and deeper cowl. Made of Tencel Jersey, in Canada. $164.00 CAD (what’s that – about $35 per dress?) Magnifeco! Ships everywhere.
