Amanda reviews: Sprout Watches

I feel like everyone is on a watch kick lately. Now I can take part in the trend, thanks to my new Sprout watch. However unlike most watches out there, mine is eco-friendly! I am excited to review my new watch for Magnifeco.

Although no one would notice any difference, my Sprout watch is made out of corn resin instead of synthetic plastic; corn resin is a biodegradable renewable resource. My watch contains a mercury-free battery. As Sprout’s website promises, my watch remained completely intact without any sign of wear and tear throughout my trial period of 3 weeks.

I also really love the design of this watch. Mine has a wooden bezel which gives the watch a natural touch, especially with the Mother of Pearl face. (Plus I happen to be kind of nuts for Mother of Pearl…) It can easily be dressed up or down depending on what you are up to. I love the way it feels around my wrist – it doesn’t stab me or pull at my arm hairs. It has a butterfly closure that is easy to open and close (There is no longer a need to ask your roommate to help you do up your watch!!)

In addition to being environmentally friendly, my Sprout watch is super cute! Mine is from the corn-resin line, but Sprout watches come in many colours and styles. They offer Tyvek watches (water/tear resistant recyclable fibrous material), cork, organic cotton and bamboo watches.

Sprout’s are worn by numerous celebrities and athletes including Terell Owens (NFL Football Player), Tara Reid (Actress), Taboo (Black Eyed Pea’s), Rico Rodriguez (Modern Family), Jane Lynch (Glee) and more.
