Ayesha Mustufa is a woman on a mission;  she first discovered the concept of microlending as a 16-year old high school student in New York, reading about a bank in Bangladesh. Action-oriented, even then, she wrote a letter to the bank, got an internship and found herself, six-moths later, at the airport in Dhaka about to begin a two-month internship.

It was the beginning of a journey that led Mustufa on a mission to start a project that would employ women and empower them to create better lives, while creating a platform to showcase indigenous skills and fabrics.  Fashion ComPassion was launched in November 2010, to provide a platform to socially responsible fashion brands that work with women artisans in the developing world – a website that sells ethical fashion brands.

Working closely with brands that employ marginalised communities and skilled artisans from Palestine, Lebanon, Jordan, Bangladesh and now Pakistan who work under the direct tutelage of some of the finest designers, Fashion ComPassion provides a global platform where these groups can retail their creations.

Popular Burqa Dresses are created by Beshtar, a social enterprise from Afghanistan. The inspiration for Beshtar comes from the resilience of a people living in a country that has been at war for more than 30 years. All the products used in the collections are textiles and items taken from everyday life in Afghanistan and reinterpreted in a modern and contemporary fashion. £160.00

This bracelet/necklace is created by Palestyle a brand that works with Palestinian Refugee Women in camps in Jordon and Lebanon. Palestyle fuses the traditional arabic heritage with contemporary fashion to bring you a trendy and chic collection.  The accessories are made in small workshops around the Middle East and the calligraphic writings are inspirational messages by the refugee women. The bracelet/necklace has 2 beautiful messages to make women feel special; Angel and Charming As The Moon is written in gold plated calligraphy. £100.00. Fashion ComPassion ships everywhere.
