Still counting down to the EcoChic Fashion Show this Thursday on Geneva, we can’t wait to see what Elena Garcia shows. Born in Spain but based in London since 1992, designer Elena Garcia originally trained as a linguist. Luckily for the eco-fashion world, she followed her passion for design and in 2001 she decided to re-train as a designer. Elena Garcia Eco-Couture is her high-end clothing label that specialises in creating designer garments for women of all ages under principles of sustainability and ethical production.Elena Garcia Eco-Couture works with natural fibres developed without pesticides and applies craft techniques locally. This Silk Chiffon Blouse with cutwork floral detail in satin on both front and back of Blouse. No shoulder seams, ribbon detail on neckline. Available in Neptune Blue. Cutwork is an ancient technique that involves stitching lines on a second panel of fabric and cutting between the lines afterwards to create a ribbon-like effect. This textile process is incredibly time-consuming and requires a great degree of hand skills, so these items can only be made in small quantities. Elena Garcia‘s cutwork is carried out by the HEBA women’s project in Brick Lane, London, a social enterprise unit that provides work and education to local women. Regular £438 now 40% OFF – £262.80.

This loose fitting Tie Dye Blouse in Organic Crinkle Silk with satin trim and neckline bow. Tie dye detail on one sleeve was £181, but with FT ‘How To Spend It’ Special 20% off offer, now £144.80. Buy from The Natural Store who ship everywhere.
