Yesterday I did something I rarely do… I went brick-and-mortar. It all started with my birthday (last week) when I decided that what I wanted most was a new purse. I’ve been scouring the internet all week (some of the ‘almost boughts’ will be featured over the next few days) looking for that perfect addition. And as I’ve just relocated to Z├╝rich where, in 1993, Daniel and Markus FREITAG came up with their idea of making unisex bags from recycled truck tarpaulins, bicycle inner tubes and seat belts – it was a perfect storm. Exploring my ‘new’ town I came upon their magnifeco flagship store (not only do the one-of-a-kind bags reuse and recycle materials but the store itself is made out of 17 used Steel Dry Containers) and fell in love-

The Donna is made of both tarpaulin and seat belts, it’s waterproof, with an inner pocket and cell phone pouch. Dimensions (L, W, H) 11.4 x 4.3 x 10.2 inches. Every FREITAG product is made from tarpaulins of different colours, markings and contours so every product is a one-off. 140CHF. They have a large selection of messenger bags, totes, wallets, etc. Ships to most countries.
