Hot off their appearance in both Voque and Lucky magazine – we introduce you to Kora. Kora merges the worlds of beautiful jewelry and sustainable business development in Africa, skilled artisans in Kenya and Rwanda (where kora means “work”) take recycled materials (aluminum, brass, horn and bone – both agricultural by-products) to make beautiful handmade pieces. The long-term sustainability of their producers is important to Kora. By paying fair prices for product they provide the artisans with the crucial capital to build their businesses. The Matte Tie Necklace (above) is handmade in Kenya from recycled Ankole cow horn and recycled aluminum beads.

This ¬†Fusion Horn Ring and its stunning striped pattern was handmade in Ghana from recycled Ankole cow horn. Height is 1.3″. Top square is 1.25″ x 1.25″. ¬†Each Kora piece comes with a cloth drawstring bag, handmade using traditional African wax cotton fabrics. Ships everywhere.
