Hand-made Thursdays – Wired
I had the chance to see the MAGNIFECO pieces from (wired), last year at the EcoChic Fashion show in Geneva (see our post here). (wired) – jewelry rewired from industry is the project of industrial designer Melissa Kolbusz and is a collection of accessories made entirely from reclaimed and surplus industrial materials, with most coming from the discard piles of various local Chicago industries. This hand punched Rocco necklace is made from the rubber labels of EFFEN Black Cherry bottles and connected with surplus stainless steel wire links (also handmade). Local Chicago music venue Metro, partners with Wired to collect the empties. The necklace pictured in solid black, is ready to ship and the first of its kind in solid black. It is also available in solid white, white with black print and black with white print. $295 USD. Ships everywhere.
