Allow me to re-introduce you to KAMI (I’m sure you’ve met before). Based in Touraine, France, KAMI was established in 1991 under the name KENZO Logistique. In 1993, Kenzo joined the LVMH group. In 2000, Kenzo Logistic became KAMI and developed a new business, uniforms (Sephora and Louis Vuitton were its first clients.) Then, in 2008, KAMI decided to become independent, leaving the LVMH group and creating its first luxury organic ready-to-wear collection in 2009. KAMI tapped Jérôme L’Huillier, a well-known designer who has worked with a number of prestigious labels such as Givenchy, Pierre Balmain, Lapidus and Junko Shimada, to design their first collection. Both high fashion and high quality, KAMI has sustainability at its heart. With the exception of one new wool and one recycled wool, KAMI uses only certified and organic materials such as organic cotton, organic wool, alpaca, buttons made from horn or corozo, and Lenpur (Canadian white pine wood pulp).
