Loomstate – the summer travel staple

It doesn’t matter whether your summer travel plans include a backpack or L.V. trunks and a valet, this 5-in-1 dress from Loomstate needs to go with you.  Loomstate’s new 321 Collection, is a line of multi-wear, lightweight pieces made of Tencel. Loomstate was launched in New York City in 2004 as a casual brand dedicated using certified organic cotton and socially and environmentally responsible methods of production. With their new 321 collection, Loomstate maintains their fashion leadership and core values, but expands the range of versatility. Tencel is built from the cellulose of wood pulp, harvested from sustainably and organically-farmed trees, making it all-natural and 100% biodegradable. The closed-loop production circuit has a minimal impact on the environment – 99% of solvents are recovered back into the cycle. The fabric works well for this multi-wear style. I had a chance to try it on at Barney’s last week and while each layer on it’s own would be too thin to wear without a slip, the 4-layers of fabric (allowing for the shifting colour palette) are perfect for the most humid of summer locales and still not see-through! Magnifeco! $218 USD.
