Love is Mighty – hand made vegan shoes
Dedicated to preserving indigenous arts and tribal culture in India, Love is Mighty founder Monisha Raja has made a line of shoes to preserve material and craftsmanship in danger of becoming extinct. This Heera pump is constructed from recycled biscuit wrappers; the artisans hand weave the plastic on looms, creating a dazzling finish. The unexpected bursts of colour and words emerge in hues of copper, royal blue, crimson and lemon. $220 USD.
This flattering low-vamp pump is created from rare vintage embroidered textiles hand-picked by Monisha during her travels in the deserts of North Western India. The Bulbul style features exquisite work by the Rabari and Jat tribes of this region. Some of the Jat work is no longer in existence. 3 ½” wooden lacquered heel. $350 USD. All Love is Mighty shoes are vegan and were recently featured in Marie Claire, USA and India. Amanda Hearst, Fashion Editor of Marie Claire is a fan and owns a few flats. Natalie Portman recently got a pair of the Heera pumps, which will be on sale at our Fair Fashion Runway event in NYC tomorrow night.
