Boston-based designer Jackie Fraser-Swan’s signature aesthetic for her line Emerson consists of contrasting elements, much like her own personal style, mixing rock with romance; sweetness with an edge. After attending the School of Fashion Design in Boston, MA, Fraser-Swan was able to take her skill of clothing construction and combine that with her natural talent for art and design. Emerson is Fraser-Swan’s middle name, a name she shares with her distant relative, philosopher and poet Ralph Waldo Emerson.  The Spring 2013 collection sprung from a dark inspiration of horror films like Carrie and TV Series American Horror Story that translated into an elegant, refined outcome. Emerson, proudly American, produces her entire line in the Garment District of New York.

Key styles included a black & white varsity jacket, red velvet flocked tulle tops and dresses, an electric blue structured, three-tier gown and contrast diamond print jacket. Colors included black/white, electric blue, bright red, neon orange, and purple.
