Pretty in Pink – vegan, ethical shoes

I just stumbled on a segment in Canada’s Globe and Mail where readers are encouraged to “ask the Keilburgers” questions about living better. If those names aren’t familiar, brothers Craig and Marc are the familiar faces of Canada’s activist youth, destined to save the world as founders of Free the Children – children helping children though education. Not only were the Keilburgers on the forefront of children against child labour they also have their own eco-fashion line Me to We Style (featured here last spring)

So good! But the piece that caught my attention was a segment titled “Ask the Kielburgers: Where can I get ethical shoes?” As an eco-fashionista, I have to say I was less than impressed by the selection; there was a clear lack of stylish, on trend choices.

That got me on the hunt for ethical shoes…. and, it turns out, Amazon is the new place to be! A search for olsenHaus (the über-stylish, vegan, ethical shoe designer from NYC) also brought back results from Cri de Coeur (fellow New Yorker, conscious, vegan, shoe designers) and Beyond Skin (the U.K.’s leading vegan shoe designer). , (disclosure: the Keilburger brothers did mention Beyond Skin in their piece). So, as antidote to mid-week blues… pretty in pink:

olsenHaus Women’s Berlin Wedge Pump Was $215.95, now $92.00 – $151.17
olsenHaus Women’s Paris Pump Was $200.95 now $80.38 – $199.99
Cri de Coeur Women’s Grace Pump. Was $90.00 now $40.50
As Amazon keeps tweaking it looks like they are getting better at offering great vegan choices. Magnifeco!
Read  Ask the Kielburgers: Where can I get ethical shoes for their list and to also learn how to weigh factors in deciding what makes a shoe “ethical”.
