Alright… that was the coverage of Geneva, now let’s move on to Berlin. We were pleased to be invited to thekey.to. Running during Berlin Fashion Week, thekey.tois an international event for green fashion, sustanable lifestyle and culture. The theme of the show, now in its second year, was {shift} – highlighting the paradigm {shift} towards a greener era; an era where new technologies and a more sustainable and fair economy go hand in hand. Over 50 green fashion brands were showcased. Using a similar criteria as Magnifeco – all brands had to be either organic, eco-friendly, recycling, fair, social (providing good working conditions throughout the production chain) or cultural (supporting traditional skills).

Our first discovery was Berlin-based brand slowmo. A family-run business, started in hip -Friedrichshain in 2006 by sister and brother Felicia and Melchior Moss slowmo‘s motto (and mission) is “organic is not a fashion, it is a commitment.” Their products are 100% certified organic and fair traded. They are free of child labor, exploitation, genetic engineering and environmental pollution and all the production is carried out locally: in Berlin. Treating humans and nature with respect is the foundation of this brand. This soft flowing bi-colored (brown/white hounds tooth) wool cape with three buttons in the front, can be worn around the shoulders or as a skirt. Made of 100% organic new wool. €139.

Left – This padded wool jacket with cotton lining, features a big collar, a removable hood, zip closure and two outer pockets. Elastic wrists and drawstring waist. Outer is made of 100% organic new wool, lining padding is 100% organic cotton €260. Right: A padded, lined cotton jacket with removable hood. Four pockets, two on the inside. The sleeves can be tightened, drawstring at the waist. Grey is sold out. Available in Black . Made of 100% organic cotton. €260. Both feature slowmo logo stitched on the front left side. Ships everywhere.

Disclosure: both the cape and the jacket are now in my wardrobe (at a show discount of 25%)! They are truly magnifeco!
