The Ethical Fashion Initiative taps sass & bide
From Harper’s BAZAAR AU: Feel good fashion newsflash: the United Nations’ International Trade Centre ITC agency have handpicked sass & bide to take part in their Ethical Fashion Initiative. Based out of the most poverty-stricken areas of sub-Saharan Africa, the long-term project seeks to financially and emotionally empower disadvantaged women through training and access, which enables them to actively contribute to the design industry. In other words: girl power.
The Australian brand’s first initiative is consists of a limited-edition capsule collection of bags – a shopper called Heading North, $290 and a clutch called On Your Marks, $190 – that have been hand-crafted in conjunction with the women from the Kikuyu, Masai, Samburu and other East African tribes.
